Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a communication technique for converging, with an IoT technology, a 5G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate after a 4G system, and a system therefor. The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services, such as smart homes, smart buildings, smart cities, smart or connected cars, healthcare, digital education, small businesses, security and safety related services, etc., on the basis of 5G communication technologies and IoT related technologies. The present invention relates to a wireless communication system and, in particular, to a method and an apparatus for managing downlink and uplink signal transmissions in a system supporting an IoT terminal for transmitting and receiving signals using only one sub-carrier. More specifically, provided is a method for assigning resources for IoT terminals, and transmitting and receiving, by an IoT terminal and a base station supporting the IoT terminal, signals in a particular sub-carrier in a corresponding resource.
