Title:
TRANSMISSION TERMINAL AND TRANSMISSION METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/111470
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An objective of the present invention is to achieve a state wherein declining throughput in one site will not affect other transmission destinations, while alleviating increases in CPU load. It is possible to use a transport protocol with a congestion control mechanism, such as TCP, in application to a multi-point distribution system, etc., wherein streaming video is transmitted to a plurality of transmission destinations. A transmission terminal transmits with a common thread (first thread) to receiving terminals (A, C) with sufficient throughput, and transmits a different thread (second thread) to a receiving terminal (B) where throughput is declining. Using such a transmission method avoids the declining throughput of the receiving terminal (B) affecting the transmissions to the receiving terminals (A, C). In addition, different threads are not respectively transmitted to the receiving terminals (A, B, C), allowing alleviating increasing numbers of threads and associated increases in CPU load.
