Abstract:
This transmissive photocathode is provided with: a light-transmitting substrate that has a first surface on which light is incident and a second surface from which the light having been incident on the first surface exits; a photoelectric conversion layer which is arranged on the second surface side of the light-transmitting substrate, and which converts the light exited from the second surface into photoelectrons; a light-transmitting conductive layer which is formed of a single graphene layer that is arranged between the light-transmitting substrate and the photoelectric conversion layer; and a thermal stress relaxation layer which is arranged between the photoelectric conversion layer and the light-transmitting conductive layer, and which has light transmission properties. The thermal expansion coefficient of the thermal stress relaxation layer is lower than the thermal expansion coefficient of the photoelectric conversion layer but higher than the thermal expansion coefficient of graphene.
