Abstract:
The present invention makes it possible for an interactive process based on information relating to an object to be performed satisfactorily at a receiving side.
Image data are encoded to obtain a video stream including encoded image data. The video stream is transmitted in a state in which information relating to an object detected on the basis of the image data has been appended thereto. The information relating to the object includes, for example, encoded data obtained by encoding 1-bit data indicating the shape of the object, information relating to a region, which is a rectangular area around the object, display priority information for the region, and text information describing the object. The information relating to the object can be acquired on the receiving side irrespective of the performance on the receiving side, without the need for the image data to be processed to detect the object, and an interactive process based on the information relating to the object can thus be performed satisfactorily.
