Provided is a technology for improving the efficiency with which a workpiece is transported by a transport system to a greater extent than in the prior art. This system for transporting workpieces comprises: a transport device for transporting a workpiece to be processed; an accommodation unit that serves as one destination to which workpieces are transported by the transport device and that is capable of accommodating a plurality of workpieces; an operation station for a worker to perform an operation on the workpieces, the operation station serving as one destination to which workpieces are transported by the transport device; a work machine for processing the workpieces, the work machine serving as one destination to which workpieces are transported by the transport device; and a control unit for controlling the transport system. The control unit executes a process for acquiring a first weight of a workpiece being transported from the operation station to the accommodation unit, and a process for determining, on the basis of the first weight, a destination at which the workpiece being transported is to be accommodated within the accommodation unit, the accommodation destination being determined so as to be closer to the work machine as the first weight increases.
