Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to obtain a traveling road recognition device that makes it possible to accurately recognize a traveling road edge of a traveling road on which a vehicle travels. A traveling road recognition device according to the present invention is a traveling road recognition device that recognizes a traveling road edge of a traveling road on which a vehicle 301 travels, and that has: a laser radar 101 that emits a laser from the vehicle 301 to the traveling road; a road surface determining unit 203 that determines a transverse gradient of the traveling road on the basis of coordinate values of a point group obtained by the laser radar 101; and a road edge determining unit 204 that determines a change point at which a gradient angle changes on the transverse gradient of the traveling road determined by the road surface determining unit 203, and determines, on the basis of coordinate values of the change point, coordinate values of a traveling road edge of at least one of both sides of the traveling road in a transverse direction.
