Abstract:
This traverse hardening device is a device for carrying out traverse hardening on a shaft-like body which is arranged such that the axis is along the vertical direction and which comprises a main body section and a large-diameter section that is provided on a portion of the main body section in the axial direction and that has a larger outer diameter than the main body section. This traverse hardening device comprises: a heating unit for heating the shaft-like body; a cooling unit having a through-hole which penetrates in the vertical direction and into which the shaft-like body is inserted, and an injection hole which is formed in the inner circumferential surface of the through-hole and from which a cooling liquid is injected; and a guide tube, the inner diameter of the lower end of which is smaller than the inner diameter of the upper end, at least a portion of which is arranged below the cooling unit, and into which the shaft-like body is inserted.
