Abstract:
The present invention provides: a tread rubber composition capable of improving overall fuel efficiency, wet grip performance, and wear resistance; and a tire. This tread rubber composition includes a styrene-butadiene rubber, silica, and a mercapto-based silane coupling agent. The styrene-butadiene rubber content is at least 50% by mass in 100% by mass of rubber component. The silica content is 30–120 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of rubber component. The tread rubber composition fulfills formulas (1) and (2). (E*(0.5%) in formula (1) indicates the complex elastic modulus under the conditions of an initial distortion of 10%, a dynamic distortion of 0.5%, and a temperature of 0°C. E*(5%) indicates the complex elastic modulus under the conditions of an initial distortion of 10%, a dynamic distortion of 5%, and a temperature of 0°C.) tan δ(70°C) ≤ 0.18 (2) (tan δ(70°C) in formula (2) indicates the loss tangent under conditions of an initial distortion of 10%, a dynamic distortion of 1%, and a temperature of 70°C.)
