Abstract:

A truck frame for a railroad vehicle is provided with a pair of right and left side beams disposed along a rail direction, a transverse beam connecting the side beams, and a seat for mounting a functional component, the seat being joined to the transverse beam. The transverse beam has a rectangular cross section, and has a top plate portion, a bottom plate portion, and a pair of side plate portions, a cut hole extending to one side plate portion is formed in the top plate portion, the seat is inserted into the cut hole, and the seat and the top plate portion are joined by butt welding. Consequently, it becomes possible to improve the welding workability of the seat for mounting a functional component such as a main motor, a gear device, or a brake device, and increase the degree of freedom in the design of the mounting position of the functional component.
