Abstract:

A turbocharging system for an internal combustion engine is equipped with a turbocharger (10) having a compressor (10a) and a turbine (10b), and a pressure wave supercharger (20) which supercharges the internal combustion engine (1) by raising the pressure of gas introduced from a gas intake port (24) into a cell (23) with the pressure wave of exhaust gas introduced from an exhaust gas introduction port (28a) into the cell(23) and discharging the gas having raised pressure from an intake gas discharging port (25) to a intake passage (3), wherein the case (21) of the pressure wave supercharger (20) is connected with the intake passage (3) on the upstream side of a compressor (10a) via the intake port (24) and connected with the intake passage (3) on the downstream side of a compressor (10b) via the discharging port (25), and further connected with an exhaust passage (4) on the downstream side of the turbine (10b) via the introduction port (28a) and an exhaust gas discharging port (28b), respectively.
