Abstract:
The present invention provides a UE context management method performed at a user equipment (UE) side, and related UE. The method comprises: when UE or a radio resource control (RRC) layer of the UE receives from an evolved node B (eNB) an RRC connection suspension message or the UE initiates an RRC connection suspension process, the UE or the RRC layer of the UE starts a UE context management timer. The RRC connection suspension message and the RRC connection suspension process are used to suspend an RRC connection and store UE context at the UE. The method further comprises: upon expiration of the UE context management timer, the UE or the RRC layer of the UE releases the stored UE context.
