Abstract:
An ultrasonic diagnostic device for measuring the characteristics of a carotid vascular wall, the ultrasonic diagnostic device comprising: a transceiving processor for transceiving ultrasound to and from a carotid artery; a minor axis cross-sectional image generator for generating a plurality of minor-axis cross-sectional images showing the minor-axis cross section perpendicular to the major-axis direction of the carotid artery on the basis of carotid artery cross section signals received in a plurality of positions; a minor-axis cross-sectional image selector for selecting specific minor-axis cross-sectional images that include minor-axis cross sections of the internal carotid artery and the external carotid artery among the plurality of minor-axis cross-sectional images; and a relative angle calculator for calculating, with respect to the carotid artery, the relative angle of a probe in the plane parallel to the minor-axis cross section of the carotid artery on the basis of the coordinate position of the minor-axis cross section of the internal carotid artery and the external carotid artery in the specific minor-axis cross-section images.
