Abstract:
The present invention improves startability in an ultraviolet ray generation device in which an excimer lamp is used as an ultraviolet light source. An ultraviolet ray generation device according to the present invention comprises: an excimer lamp having a discharge container in which a gas for discharge is sealed; a first electrode body and a second electrode body which are disposed so as not to be exposed to the gas for discharge; and a first conductor which is electrically connected to one electrode body among the first electrode body and the second electrode body. The first conductor is disposed facing the other electrode body or a second conductor electrically connected to the other electrode body, with a dielectric member therebetween. The first conductor generates discharge in the atmosphere surrounding the first conductor.
