Abstract:
An ultraviolet sterilization device 10 is provided with: a treatment chamber 12 for housing an object to be sterilized; and a light source 40 for irradiating the interior of the treatment chamber 12 with ultraviolet light. The treatment chamber 12 has a wall of a laminate structure 30 that comprises a first layer 31 made of a fluorine-based resin material and a second layer 32 made of a material having an ultraviolet reflecting property, the laminate structure 30 having the first layer 31 disposed so as to face the interior of the treatment chamber 12. The light source 40 may include an aluminum gallium nitride (AlGaN)-based ultraviolet light-emitting element.
