Abstract:
An object of the invention is to ensure that when a child puts up an umbrella, without child being particularly conscious of the way the fabric is attached, its transparent portion is naturally positioned forward. In the umbrella of the invention, the umbrella handle is formed with recesses in a portion corresponding to the finger position when the umbrella handle is gripped, the arrangement being such that when the umbrella is put up with the fingers applied to the recesses to grip the handle, the portion of the fabric positioned forward is transparent. The way the fingers are applied to the umbrella handle to grip the latter differs between gripping with the right hand and gripping with the left hand. Therefore, it is preferable to form recesses in the handle on both sides to cope with right-handed persons and left-handed persons.
