Abstract:
The present invention relates to a use of an active androgen receptor antagonist for cancer treatment. Specifically, an oligonucleotide KilGreene according to the present invention comprises a Kil sequence and a distal glucocorticoid response element (GRE), wherein an active androgen receptor binds to the GRE, and a signal peptide interacting with the active androgen receptor binds to the Kil sequence, so that a complex of the active androgen receptor and signal peptide interacting therewith can be removed. Therefore, KilGreene exhibits effects of removing an active androgen receptor moved into the nucleus through EGFR-induced androgen-independent signaling in non-small cell lung cancer cells that are positive for EGFR, so as to block the transcription activation of the active androgen receptor, and thus inhibits the growth of cancer cells. Thus, KilGreene is a gene therapy agent and can be usefully used as an active ingredient in the treatment of cancer associated with androgen receptor signaling.
