Title:
USE OF COMPOUND BINDING TO MSIN3B THAT SPECIFICALLY BINDS TO NEURON RESTRICTIVE SILENCER FACTOR (NRSF)
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/099502
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention identifies a compound which binds to the PAH1 domain of mSin3B that specifically binds to a neuron restrictive silencer factor (NRSF), and provides a use of the compound as a prophylactic and/or therapeutic agent for diseases associated with aberrant expression of a neuron restrictive silencer binding factor (NRSF/REST) or aberrant expression of a gene targeted by the NRSF/REST, such as Huntington's disease, medulloblastoma and neuropathic pain. Specifically disclosed is a pharmaceutical composition which contains a substance that is capable of binding to the PAH1 domain of mSin3B, for example, a compound represented by formula (I), a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof or a pharmaceutically acceptable ester thereof. (In the formula, n represents 0 or 1; R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 each independently represents a hydrogen atom, a hydrocarbon group or a functional group; Y represents a single bond, a carbonyl group, a -CONH- group, an -NHCO- group or a sulfonyl group; and Z represents an optionally substituted nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group, an amino group which may have a hydrocarbon group or an aromatic hydrocarbon group, or an optionally substituted nitrogen- and oxygen-containing heterocyclic group.)
