A use control method and device for medical equipment. The medical equipment is logged in successfully by means of a dongle. The method comprises: when medical equipment tests a current patient, obtaining the current number of uses of the medical equipment during the current test process (S101); updating the available number of times of the medical equipment stored in a dongle according to the current number of uses of the medical equipment, so as to obtain the updated available number of times (S102); and if the updated available number of times is less than 0, determining that the medical equipment is unavailable (S103). According to the use control method and device for medical equipment, by combining the available number of times of the medical equipment stored in a dongle, medical equipment manufacturers can sell medical equipment with different available numbers of times to different hospitals, so that more hospitals can use medical equipment.
