Abstract:
The invention belongs to the field of wind power systems. The proposed funnel-like constructions can collect wind energy from a large area and concentrate it to a smaller area and increase the velocity of the wind before it drives the propeller, the rotor or the turbine. The patent claims are in respect of the use of inflatable or fillable or combined inflatable/fillable funnel-like constructions for concentration of wind power and increasing wind velocity in wind power systems. The wind (1) is concentrated by the funnel-like construction (2) and passes the propeller, the rotor or the turbine (3) at greater velocity. The technical problem of reducing the costs of wind power systems is resolved by the use of air, water, sand etc. as a building material in simple fashion and by the scaling-down of the dimensions of the propeller, the rotor or the turbine as a result of concentrating the wind. The technical problem of eliminating negative environmental effects of wind power systems is resolved by the funnel-like construction encapsulating the propeller, the rotor or the turbine. The principal application of the invention is in wind power systems.

Description:
Use of inflatable (fillable) funnel-like constructions for concentration of wind power in wind power systems.

The object of the invention is to reduce the costs of construction of wind power systems and to lessen the nega¬ tive environmental effects of existing wind power systems.

Problems exist in being able to reduce the costs of construc- 5 tion of wind power systems. Big towers, propellers, rotors etc are relatively expensive.

Problems exist in being able to lessen the negative environ¬ mental effects caused by large propellers, rotors etc. Large propellers create noise, kill birds. Ice also forms on the 10 propeller, which, in addition to reducing its efficiency, constitutes a safety hazard due to the danger of ice falling on people, animals, vegetation and buildings in the vicinity.

With the object of contributing to the resolution of the . above-mentioned problems, the following invention is 15 proposed.

Concentration of wind power permits a multifold decrease in the diameter of the propeller and the rotor, which represents a decrease in costs of construction (design) of the pro¬ peller, the rotor and the- tower to the same effect.

Concentration of wind power means increasing the wind veloci¬ ty at the propeller, the rotor or the turbine, which means better utilization of low-velocity winds.

The above-mentioned negative environmental effects are reduced sharply as the propeller, the rotor or the turbine operates insulated from the environment and the noise is thereby reduced. Palling ice is eliminated.

The construction can be installed on lakes, at sea etc, and can be combined inflatable/fillable. .

Construction time for wind power systems can be reduced.

The invention is explained by the following sample construc¬ tion:

The wind (1) meets the inflatable or fillable or combined in- flatable/fillable funnel-like construction (2), is concentra- ted and passes the propeller, the rotor or the turbine (3) at greater velocity.

The construction may have several funnel-like parts, (2), facing different points of the compass in order to catc the wind from the appropriate direction.
