Abstract:
A CVTECU (7) of a continuously variable transmission (1) mounted in a vehicle is provided with a valve inspecting unit (75) for inspecting a control valve (63) with which the continuously variable transmission (1) is equipped. The CVTECU (7) performs feedback control of hydraulic pressure in the control valve (63) in order to control the transmission ratio of the continuously variable transmission (1), and the valve inspecting unit (75) is provided with: a hunting detection unit (77) which, on the basis of a manipulated variable of the feedback control, detects an occurrence of a hunting state in which the manipulated variable of the feedback control adopts or exceeds a prescribed value; and a valve malfunction determining unit (78) which determines that the control valve (63) has malfunctioned if an occurrence of the hunting state is detected.
