Abstract:
[Problem] To provide: a valve capable of stably maintaining sealing properties to prevent leakage of air or blood while maintaining a smooth insertion feel even when various types of medical elongate bodies are repeatedly inserted and removed; and a medical instrument provided with the valve. [Solution] A valve 110 comprises a body part 115 which includes a first surface 111, a second surface 112 opposite the first surface, an outer peripheral surface 113 that extends between the first surface and second surface, and an insertion part 120 which is at least formed on the first surface and has an inner surface 123 that defines a gap 121 which enables insertion of a medical elongate body 300. The body part contains a self-repairing material capable of self-repairing damage created by contact with the medical elongate body, and at least a portion of the inner surface of the insertion part has a coating layer 125 formed thereon to prevent the gap from being closed by self-repair in a state in which portions of the inner surface of the insertion part contact each other.
