Abstract:
A variable nozzle unit (100) is provided with a first plate (110), a second plate (120), a plurality of nozzle vanes (140) each having a rotating shaft portion (142) and a vane (144), a plurality of vane arms (160), and a unison ring (170). Each vane arm (160) includes an engaging portion (164). The plurality of vane arms (160) include at least one extended arm (161). The extended arm (161) has an extended portion (166) having a shape that extends from the engaging portion (164) toward the second plate (120). The second plate (120) has an accepting portion (122) for accepting the extended portion (166). The accepting portion (122) has abutting walls (124) which abut the extended portion (166) in a position in which each nozzle vane (140) maximizes a flow passage surface area of an exhaust flow passage and in a position in which each nozzle vane (140) minimizes said flow passage surface area.
