Abstract:
The present invention relates to: a variant microorganism in which a glycerol catabolism pathway and a 1,3-PDO biosynthetic metabolic pathway are introduced into a microorganism incapable of utilizing glycerol as a single carbon source; and a method for preparing 1,3-PDO by using same. According to the present invention, glycerol, which is a low cost material, is used as a single carbon source such that a variant microorganism having the ability to produce 1,3-PDO can be grown and, simultaneously, 1,3-PDO can be produced, and thus the present invention is useful for producing 1,3-PDO economically.
