Abstract:
When a deficiency in the control system for a right rear wheel (1RR) is detected (t2), the driving/braking force (Tm_L) of the normal left rear wheel (1RL) is corrected by ΔTm_L such that ø = ø1, on the basis of the yaw rate (ø1), which is a past value of the yaw rate (ø) during a period of time (ΔTM) from the time of the current yaw rate to a prescribed time in the past, and is the yaw rate at the time (t1) immediately before the deficiency occurred. Thus, a recovery to the yaw rate (ø1) prior to the occurrence of the deficiency can be reliably achieved, and the amount of unavoidable deviation in the yaw rate (ø1) during the period from the occurrence of the deficiency to recovery of the yaw rate can be suppressed to the small amount indicated by hatching in the figure, thereby enabling a transient but sufficient failsafe countermeasure to be implemented.
