Abstract:
This vehicle behavior prediction device comprises: an object detector (1) for detecting the position, relative to a vehicle, of an object ahead of or behind the vehicle, and detecting moving objects traveling farther away than the object from the perspective of the vehicle; and a behavior prediction unit (10). On the basis of the position detected by the object detector (1), the behavior prediction unit (10) calculates a blind spot area of the vehicle, said blind spot area being formed by the object and being undetectable by the object detector (1). The behavior prediction unit (10) estimates a detection-possible time constituting the time from when a moving object is detected until the moving object enters the blind spot area when the moving object progresses on a prescribed path after the moving object has been detected by the object detector (1). The behavior prediction unit (10) compares the detection-possible time and an actual detection-possible time constituting the time from when the moving object was detected until the moving object actually enters the blind spot area, and predicts the path of the moving object on the basis of the comparison results.
