The purpose of the present invention is to provide a vehicle brake system which is capable of ensuring a desired friction braking force when brake fade occurs. This vehicle brake system is provided with: cylinders (11, 12); output pistons (14, 15) slidably disposed inside the cylinders; an input piston (13) that is slidably disposed inside the cylinder apart from the output pistons, and defines a spacing chamber (1B); a brake operating member (10) that communicates with the rear end of the input piston; a reaction force generator that communicates with the spacing chamber, and applies an elastic reaction force to the brake operating member; a spacing lock valve (22) that opens or closes a pipe connecting the spacing chamber and the reaction force generator; a fade state determining unit (6) that determines whether or not a friction brake is in a fade state; and a friction braking control unit (6) that closes the spacing lock valve when the friction brake is in a fade state, thereby changing to fade mode.
