Provided is a vehicle control device capable of suppressing the occurrence of hunting or stepping during the controlling of brake fluid supplied to a master cylinder. In this vehicle control device, a pressurizing/depressurizing characteristic selector (64) selects pressurizing characteristics when a target wheel cylinder pressure has been increasing continuously for a predetermined operation determinative time period, and selects depressurizing characteristics when the target wheel cylinder pressure has been decreasing continuously for the predetermined operation determinative time period. An output servo pressure setting part (65) sets a target servo pressure in accordance with the pressurizing characteristics or depressurizing characteristics selected by the pressurizing/depressurizing characteristic selector (64). A servo pressure generating device (4) generates the servo pressure on the basis of the target servo pressure.
