Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of adequately ensuring safe travel of a vehicle when a situation is encountered in which a driver had difficulty driving during manual driving. In a step S301 the driver manually drives the vehicle. In a step S302, if the state of the driver is not normal and the vehicle is stopped the process proceeds to a stopped-state driving switching process in a step S304. In the step S302 if the state of the driver is not normal and the vehicle is not stopped the process proceeds to an emergency automatic driving process in a step S305. The stopped-state driving switching process in step S304 is a process in which, when the vehicle is stopped and the state of the driver is not normal, a transition to emergency automatic driving is carried out, or normal automatic driving or normal manual driving is restored. The emergency automatic driving process in step S305 is a process in which control is performed in accordance with the state of the driver so as to carry out automatic driving to a specific destination, carry out normal automatic driving, or carry out manual driving.
