Abstract:
A vehicle control system comprising: an automatic driving control unit that automatically controls at least either the acceleration/deceleration or steering of a vehicle and performs automatic driving control in one of a plurality of modes having differing degrees of automatic driving; and an interface control unit that, in accordance with the automatic driving mode implemented by the automatic driving control unit, receives operations by an occupant of the automobile and restricts operation of an interface device that outputs prescribed information. In a state in which the restriction is reduced or lifted, the interface control unit returns the state of the interface device to the state prior to the restriction being reduced or lifted or makes a prescribed notification, at a prescribed time prior to the automatic driving mode being changed, if the automatic driving mode is being changed such that the degree of automatic driving is reduced.
