Abstract:
A vehicle detection device 4 comprising: a camera 8 that captures images of a forward region and has an image sensor 14 having a plurality of imaging elements that include a first imaging element group and a second imaging element group and a first filter that reduces the amount of light incident to the first imaging element group to be lower than the amount of light incident to the second imaging element group; an image generation unit 10 that generates a first image on the basis of information obtained from the first imaging element group and generates a second image on the basis of information obtained from the second imaging element group; and a detection unit 12 that detects vehicles ahead, on the basis of the first image and the second image.
