Abstract:
A vehicular lamp system (1) that comprises a variable light distribution lamp (2) that shines a visible light beam (L1) at a forward area, a visible light camera (4) that captures images of the forward area, a distance measurement sensor (6) that has been oriented to measure in the direction of the forward area, and a light distribution control device (8). The light distribution control device (8) has a first detection unit (10) that detects a target on the basis of measurement results from the distance measurement sensor (6), a second detection unit (12) that detects the brightness of the target detected by the first detection unit (10) on the basis of detection results from the first detection unit (10) and an image (IMG) obtained from the visible light camera (4), and a lamp control unit (14) that controls the variable light distribution lamp (2) on the basis of detection results from the second detection unit (12) so as to form a light distribution pattern (PTN) that increases the brightness of the target detected by the first detection unit (10).
