Abstract:
Provided is a vehicle-mounted communication system that reduces the time required for detecting the position of a portable device, and that enables stable information communication between a vehicle-mounted device and the portable device. This vehicle-mounted communication system comprises: a vehicle-mounted device 1 that transmits a detection signal from an LF transmission antenna 22 provided in a vehicle C; and a portable device 3 that receives the detection signal transmitted from the vehicle-mounted device 1, and that transmits a response signal according to the received detection signal. The vehicle-mounted device 1 detects the position of the portable device by receiving the response signal transmitted from the portable device 3. The vehicle-mounted device 1 includes: a vehicle-mounted transmission unit that transmits the detection signal from the LF transmission antenna 22; and a vehicle-mounted reception unit that receives the response signal transmitted from the portable device 3. The portable device 3 includes: a reception unit that receives the detection signal transmitted from the vehicle-mounted device 1; and a transmission unit that transmits, at different timings, a first response signal including information according to the received detection signal and a second response signal including the same information as said information in cases where the reception unit receives the detection signal.
