This vehicle panel roller hemming device is characterized by being equipped with roller hem equipment having a positioning mechanism for using a locator to position an outer panel on a hemming die, and a suctioning/fixing mechanism for using a vacuum pad to suction and fix a lower surface of the outer panel, the suctioning/fixing mechanism being provided with: a pad base part; a skirt part that continuously rises at a prescribed thickness from the edge of the pad base part and has an opening in the peripheral edges thereof; a depressurization space formed by an inner wall of the pad base part and an inner wall of the skirt part; and a suctioning through pipe that passes through the pad base part and communicates with the depressurization space, and suctions the air inside the depressurization space. As a result, a vehicle panel roller hemming device and a processing method that uses said roller hemming device are provided in which it is possible, during the manufacture of vehicle panels, to properly place a workpiece, which comprises an outer panel and an inner panel, at a prescribed position on a hemming die during roller hemming and to reliably fix both panels during roller movement during hemming, said roller hemming device also comprising technology that reduces the number of programming processes for automating roller hemming, increases product quality, decreases the percent defective, and realizes superior mass production.
