Abstract:
Provided are a vehicle-to-vehicle communication system, road-side communication device, vehicle-mounted communication device, and vehicle-to-vehicle communication method, with which it is possible to carry out sending and receiving of information among vehicles even if it is possible for the arrival of a wireless signal to be obstructed by a blocking obstacle which is present between the vehicles. A vehicle-to-vehicle communication system according to the present embodiment carries out wireless communication among a plurality of vehicles, each of which comprises a vehicle-mounted communication device which transmits and receives information by a wireless signal. The vehicle-to-vehicle communication system comprises a road-side communication device which relays the communication among the plurality of vehicles, said road-side communication device comprising: a road-side receiving unit which receives information which the vehicle-mounted communication device transmits by the wireless signal; and a road-side transmitting unit which transmits by a wireless signal the information which the road-side receiving unit has received. The vehicle-mounted communication device comprises: a vehicle-side receiving unit which receives the information which the vehicle-mounted communication devices which have been mounted upon other vehicles wirelessly send and the information which the road-side communication device wirelessly sends; an assessment unit which assesses the necessity of the information which the vehicle-side receiving unit has received; and an information processing unit which carries out an information process based on the information which the assessment unit has assessed as being necessary.
