Abstract:
This travel control device: detects, if a determination was made that there is congestion in another lane on a planned travel route, an entry space existing at the rear of another vehicle within the other lane; determines whether the entry space meets a preset prescribed condition; sets, if the determination was that the entry space meets the prescribed condition, a target attitude of a host vehicle at a target position on the basis of the shape of the entry space; and generates a target travel trajectory from the current position of the host vehicle to the target position. The travel control device controls the behavior of the host vehicle such that the host vehicle travels by following the target travel trajectory.
