A vehicle type-based parking hall-free intelligent parking method, comprising: providing cameras (2) around a parking region (1), the cameras being capable of recording the angles of rotation; establishing a coordinate system for the parking region (1); after receiving a request used for confirming parking, confirming the position of a vehicle to be parked and the optimal position of a parking robot during vehicle carrying by means of an image in combination with the coordinate system; identifying the type of the vehicle by means of the image of the vehicle, and according to the type of the vehicle, obtaining the wheelbase of the vehicle; transmitting, to the parking robot, the optimal position of the parking robot during vehicle carrying and the wheelbase of the vehicle, and confirming the position; by means of a preset parking space scheduling method, confirming the number of a parking space where the vehicle is to be parked; and carrying, to a corresponding parking space by means of the parking robot, the vehicle to be parked. In the case that there is no parking hall, a vehicle that is parked at will can be carried to a specified parking space only by means of the parking robot.
