Abstract:
A vehicular display device 1 includes a housing 2, an image display device, a mirror, and a transparent cover 5 disposed in an opening 21 of the housing, wherein the cover has an outer surface 51 and an inner surface 52 and has a curved shape directed inward of the housing in a cross section perpendicular to the horizontal direction of an image, a light shielding wall 130 shields the outer surface from a first external light, the inner surface is a free-form surface formed so as to correct distortion or aberration of the image, the angle difference between the inner surface and the outer surface in the cross section is a value within a range in which a second external light L12 can be blocked by the light shielding wall, and the second external light is part of the external light transmitted through a windshield 110 toward the cover, the second external light being reflected along an optical path 10 toward an eye point, assuming that this light is incident on the cover and reflected by the inner surface.
