Abstract:
A vehicular display device 1 includes a housing 2 that is mounted in a vehicle and that includes an opening facing a windshield; an image display device that is disposed inside the housing and that outputs display light of an image; a mirror 4 that is disposed inside the housing, faces the windshield through the opening, and reflects the display light toward the windshield; and a transparent cover 5 disposed in the opening. The cover includes an outside surface 51 that faces the windshield, and an inside surface that faces the mirror, and also, in a cross-section orthogonal to an image transverse direction, has a curved shape directed into the housing. The inside surface is a free curved surface formed so as to correct distortion or aberration of the image. An angle difference between the outside surface and the inside surface in the cross-section is set to a value in a range in which external light L2 that enters the cover into the inside thereof from the outside surface does not totally reflect in the inside of the cover.
