Abstract:
Provided is a vehicular power transmission device that is provided with a hydraulic power transmission device, and that is able to have a shorter overall length in the axial direction. The vehicular power transmission device (12) is, on a power transmission pathway between an engine (14) and a drive wheel (16), provided with: a torque converter (18) having a rear cover (38) to which a plurality of pump blades (40) are provided, a turbine (42) to which a plurality of turbine blades (44) that receive fluid flow from the pump blades (40) are provided, and a stator (46) disposed between the pump blades (40) and the turbine blades (44) and to which a stator blade (45) is provided; and an automatic transmission (20) that transmits, to a subsequent stage, power that is input from the torque converter (18) to an input shaft (48). An open-side duct (132), which is a circulating outward pathway through which a fluid is caused to flow towards the inside of the torque converter (18) during circulation of the fluid within the torque converter (18), is configured from a cylindrical gap (132a) between the input shaft (48) and a stator shaft (62).
