Abstract:
The present invention provides a vessel that is for use in centrifugal separation, and that has at least a cylinder part and a plunger head part. The cylinder part and plunger head part work in cooperation to constitute a syringe. The interior surface of the cylinder part comprises a body surface which defines a body part that forms a main cylindrical interior space having a diameter D1, a discharge port surface which defines a discharge port part having a cylindrical interior space having a diameter D2 that satisfies D1>D2, and a funnel-shaped surface which defines a funnel-shaped part that forms a funnel-shaped interior space connecting the body part and the discharge port part. The funnel-shaped surface is configured to have at least one of (I)-(III) indicated below. (I) A first connection surface that is bent and made to be smoothly contiguous to the body surface so as to minimize the occurrence of turbulent flow at the boundary between the body surface and the funnel-shaped surface when liquid within the body part moves into the funnel-shaped part. (II) A second connection surface that is bent and made to be smoothly contiguous to the discharge port surface so as to minimize the occurrence of turbulent flow at the boundary between the funnel-shaped surface and the discharge port surface when the liquid within the body part moves into the discharge port part via the funnel-shaped part. (III) A slant surface that is tilted at a prescribed angle so as to minimize the occurrence of turbulence in the flow of said liquid at the boundary between the body surface and the funnel-shaped surface, and also at the boundary between the funnel-shaped surface and the discharge port surface, when the liquid within the body part passes through the funnel-shaped part and moves into the discharge port part.
