Abstract:
A video encoding apparatus for generating a bitstream by appropriately selecting, by use of information of a video signal related to a dynamic range, a hierarchical encoding structure from among a plurality of hierarchical encoding structures, comprises an encoding unit that, when the video signal to be encoded changes from a Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) to a High Dynamic Rang (HDR) or from HDR to SDR in the time direction, selects a hierarchical encoding structure enabling the transmission of the information of the video signal related to the dynamic range and used for changing the dynamic ranges.
