Abstract:
A view switching method and apparatus, for use in reducing the delay of view switching in a video playback process. The view switching method comprises: a server receives a video playback request sent by a terminal, the video playback request carrying a bias parameter, and the bias parameter indicating the position of a frame during switching from a first view to a second view; the server generates a random insertion frame according to the bias parameter, generates a target group of pictures (GOP) according to the random insertion frame, and sends the target GOP to the terminal, the target GOP comprising the random insertion frame and corresponding to the second view; and the terminal receives and plays the target GOP, thereby achieving switching of a playback picture from the first view to the second view.
