Abstract:
The present application provides a virtual gift display method and apparatus. The virtual gift display method comprises: receiving virtual gift information, wherein the virtual gift information comprises a given target virtual gift and the number of given target virtual gifts; obtaining, from a gift picture material library, at least two gift pictures corresponding to the target virtual gift; according to the number of the given target virtual gifts, splicing the obtained at least two gift pictures according to a preset splicing rule to obtain an on-screen comment picture; and displaying the on-screen comment picture in an on-screen comment region. Therefore, the on-screen comment function of a live broadcasting room can be used to display a virtual gift given by a user, and the function of displaying the virtual gift is not needed to be redeveloped, thereby greatly saving the development cost and the development time; moreover, the on-screen comment function and a gift giving function are combined, thereby improving the user experience.
