Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a visual confirmation status determination device and a visual confirmation status determination system that can easily determine the gaze direction of a measurement subject, using a simple structure. [Solution] A visual confirmation status determination device 1 comprises: an imaging unit 2 that images an eyeball 103 of a measurement subject 100, on which an infrared light from a light source 10 has been shined; and a processing part 3 that determines the gaze direction of the measurement subject 100 on the basis of an imaged image. A camera 20 is positioned in a location that receives reflected light, which is reflected in the opposite direction from the emission direction of the infrared light. The processing part 3 detects, from an image from the imaging unit 2 from while the light is off, a pupil image region P corresponding to reflected light, of light other than the infrared light, in the pupil 104 of the eyeball 103, and detects, from an image from while the light is on, an infrared light reflected light region Q corresponding to reflected light, of the infrared light, from the eyeball 103. If the infrared light reflected light region Q overlaps with the pupil image region P, the processing part 3 determines that the gaze direction of the measurement subject 100 is toward a visual confirmation object 110 that is located on a line of extension in the opposite direction from the emission direction.
