Abstract:
In the present invention, a communicating hole 7 communicating through a wall surface 2a of a combustion chamber 2 and a side wall surface 3a of a cylinder block 3 is formed in the interior of the cylinder block 3. A visualizing member 4 is fitted into this communicating hole 7, from the side wall surface 3a side of the cylinder block 3. The visualizing member 4 is abutted and pressed with a protective member 5 from the outside of the cylinder block 3, and in that state a plurality of fixing members 6 are used to fix two ends 5b of the protective member 5 to the side wall surface 3a of the cylinder block 3. As pertains to the visualizing member 4 in plan view, a second arcuate portion 4b formed in a surface abutting against the protective member 5 has a greater curvature than the curvature of a first arcuate portion 4a formed in the center of the width direction of a surface abutting against the cylinder block 3.
