A three-dimensional tomographic image (B) comprising a plurality of two-dimensional tomographic images obtained by scanning the fundus of the eye is formed. Contours of preset regions (M1, M2, M3, M4) in the tomographic image are determined for each tomographic image, and the volume of the preset regions is calculated by correcting the area or cumulative value of the areas for the preset regions, which are defined by the determined contour, using an image correction coefficient corresponding to the diopter of the eye being examined. Even if the eyes being examined have different diopters, the impact of the diopter correction can be eliminated and a quantitative comparison can be made between eyes being examined with different diopters.
