Abstract:
The present invention provides technology whereby it is possible to assist a driver in the operation of a vehicle when a warning sound indicating that a train is approaching a railroad crossing is being emitted. This warning sound processing device comprises: a sound monitoring sensor that generates a monitored sound signal from monitored sound or vibrations associated with monitored sound; a warning sound detection unit that generates, from the monitored sound signal, a warning sound detection result indicating whether the monitored sound includes a warning sound for a railroad crossing; and a warning sound response unit that executes processing for issuing a warning to the driver that a train is approaching the railroad crossing and/or processing for applying the brake of the vehicle being driven by the driver in cases when the warning sound detection result indicates that the monitored sound includes a warning sound.
