Abstract:
This washing machine is provided with a transmitter-receiver (230) for performing data communication with a portable information terminal, an input unit (104) for setting a course of operation, a memory (51) for storing setting details of a course of operation by data communications and the input unit (104), and a control unit (121) for controlling the action of the washing machine on the basis of the setting details stored in the memory (51). The control unit (121) has a rewriting unit (52) for the memory (51), and rewrites the setting details in the memory (51) on the basis of a signal received by the transmitter-receiver (230) by data communication in response to approaching of the transmitter-receiver (230) by the portable information terminal (220). The setting details of washing operation by the washing machine can thereby be easily changed.
