Abstract:

Disclosed is a water heater wherein a scale component dissolved in water can be efficiently deposited and thus the adhesion of scale to a heat transfer channel can be prevented. Specifically disclosed is water heater comprising: a tank; an anode and a cathode which are positioned in the tank facing each other; a scale deposition means which is equipped with a first power source for applying voltage between the anode and the cathode and by which a scale component dissolved in water that is pooled in the tank is deposited; a heat transfer channel which is located in the downstream of the scale deposition means and into which the water is guided; and a heat source for heating the water via heat exchange in the heat transfer channel; wherein the scale deposition means is equipped with a means for supplying oxygen gas and dissolving the same by which oxygen gas is supplied to a water supply pipe for supplying water to the tank and then dissolved in the water.
