This water purification device (1) is provided with a rotating tank (8) having a filter (12) for filtering raw water and a power generating unit 3 having a rotor (3b) disposed coaxially with the axis (Ax1) of rotation of the rotating tank (8). This water purification device (1) is for use in environments where electric power is not supplied by a power company such as disaster areas and generates large amounts of potable purified water.
